Controversial preacher Kanyari back at it with gambling program

The controversial  pastor is engaging in another money-making scheme, similar to the one that earned him disgrace and partly led to his separation from gospel singer Betty Bayo.

In his TV stations Kanyari tells his viewers that he will send them KSh 30,000 on the condition that they should first send him KSh 500.

"Nimesema ukinitumia mia tano nakutumia elfu thelathini, ukituma mia tatu nakutimia elfu saba na ukituma mia mbili nakutumia elfu mbili, wewe ndio nangojea nikushughulikie (If you send KSh 500 I will send you KSh 30,000. If you send KSh 300 you will receive KSh 7,000 and KSh 200 will earn you KSh 2000. It is you I am waiting for)" he said.

He assures the audience that each of the first 30 people are eligible for the prize money which he calls the jackpot. He also showcases a number of people who have benefited from his programme including white people.

To increase eligibility and probability of being seen by the "secretaries" Kanyari advises viewers to consider sending more money instead of the minimum Sh100.

"Secretary wangu wanaangalianga mtu mwenye ametuma pesa nyingi kwanza kabla waende kwa wengine kwa hivyo ukitaka kufaulu, ni vizuri utume pesa mingi" Kanyari explains.

He then proceeds to read out some of those who have begun sending in their money and assuring them that the secretaries were working out to send out Sh30,000 to the first 30 participants.

For those who may not get the cash prize, he explains the reason as being lateness in sending in the money.

Kanyari burst into the spotlight in 2014 when investigative journalist turned politician Mohammed Ali exposed him for conducting fake miracles to fleece Kenyans of their earned money.

The preacher would dissolve potassium permanganate in water, turning purple, which he then claimed treated unknown diseases. He would then ask his congregants to send KSh 310.
